Hey guys! Hope you’ll are doing great. If you follow me on instagram, you might know that my college just started. Being an engineering student is difficult. Right from never ending examinations to projects, practicals, programming, what and what not. But you know what’s more annoying? Dress codes.
Having to wear particular type of attire actually restricts your creativity and imagination to mix and match…not to mention how boring it is to go basic all day everyday. But rules are rules. So today I’ve got you tips and tricks to make your basics look not so basic. So let’s get started, shall we?
Play with colors. Instead of wearing your blue/ black jeans everyday, invest in some colorful palazzos, leggings, trousers in shades like whites, beige, greys or even bolder hues! Don’t just stick to your simple tops and tees. Make your tops or tees look quirky by layering them with shrugs, jackets, shirts, etc. Invest in crop tops, cold shoulders, off shoulders, etc in bold reds, purples and earthy tones. They’re a rage this season!
2. Shoe game
You know what can make or break your outfit? Your shoe game. Experiment with different styles- sneakers, wedges, flipflops, gladiators, etc. according to your comfort and mood. You can instantly up your game with those footwear. Easy, isn’t it?!
When your outfit is too plain or basic, one small thing that can actually change your whole look is how you accessorize it. Statement necklaces, earrings, layered chains, jhumkas, tassel earrings totally up your style quotient. Not to forget your bagpacks. Mix and match your outfits and carry quirky bags that lift up your mood. They make a huge huge difference. Play with your sunglasses- aviators, clubmasters, round rimmed… there are tons of styles and colors for each and every mood of yours!
So that’s about some tips to make your basics look not so basic by styling them in a different fashion. I also put together a #BackToCollege look for you guys. Have a look
I’ve settled for earthy tones in this look. Playing with browns and blacks… I’ve styled my sleeveless top with creme trousers, ditching my basic blue jeans. To add more color and edge, I’ve kept my shoes and bag pack black. I love how classic yet edgy the whole look is. The sunglasses totally make a huge lot of difference as you can see.
So that’s one of the many ways in which you can pair up your tees and bottoms in different styles to create unique and not so basic looks for your college everyday.
That’s all for today, will be back with another post super soon.
